NEWS
Hope everyone has settled back into the swing of work!  After the storms last week we are in the process of cleaning up the damage to the driveway that washed away! All of the vines are fine, and there is plenty of green all over the vineyard now with the Red grape variatels almost ready to pick!  We have applied a fertiliser and protective Fungal and Insecticide spray to the vines which is essential to protect from mould and  mildew which loves to grow in the humidity. Latents Greens are all planted down the driveway, most are growing really well, however some seem to be struggling, might have too do some replanting! The tiling is completed now and the difference is amazing. We now have a lot more room for outdoor seating which should be great for the warmer months ahead.

We still have a few members who need to come and collect their membership packs.  If you would prefer us to send it to you, please let us know.  Cost will be around $10 - $15 depending on your location or you can arrange your own courier to collect from us. We are open for renewals too.  I have had a hiccup at the printers, but I am hoping to get the new member cards in by end of this week, along with the rewards cards.  We have a new and improved membership this year, with a whole lot more discounts and special things for our members , and benefits for supporting us too.

NEWS FROM THE VINES

Picking time is here again.  Please leave your names with me so I can contact you and let you know details.  At this stage we are looking at Sunday 21st February.  Members and their guests will get priority.  We will have the spit roast lunch, stomping of the grapes and prizes for mishaps.  We will start early around 7am and it will conclude at 1pm.

The Homested is coming along nicely with the turf all laid out the front, stairs and white stone pathway in with the hedged garden planted either side. Looks great and provides a much needed wet weather access!

Kandy’s Off…. Yes you heard right.  I have been given an invaluable opportunity to learn how to make wine at Oyster Bay Winery in Marlborough.  This is a once in a lifetime thing, so I couldn’t pass it up.  Cam and the boys will take good care of everyone, and I will still know whats going on, as I will be in touch constantly, so do not think I am abandoning you all.  I leave March 8th and return early June.  Maybe we will finally see that winery at Sarabah….

STOP PRESS  Melissa Dearsly (Daddy’s little Girl in NZ ) just gave birth to a bouncing baby boy (09/02/2010)  Mum and Dad are over the moon and everyone is well and healthy.  We wish them all the best from Grumpy, NanD, Uncle Shan and Aunty Sach, and Uncle Trav and Aunty Clanky.
